Editing is OVER!
And believe me, I have been celebrating in my own way (drowning in Netflix shows counts as celebrating, hush), and I’m overjoyed at the story I have now. And as for what has been done with the story – well you’ll have to keep reading future blog posts to find out. 😉 Moving on, The Dark World is the novel I’m talking about in case you’re a newcomer to this blog, and you can read more about it by clicking the link up there on the navigation bar. And with the completion of The Dark World, (for the millionth time), I’ve…
Future Books
Writing is back in full swing! In order (unless otherwise stated), these are the books I’m working on at any given time to publish within the next three or so years: The Immortal’s Guide – Delacroix Series (The swirling cold air surrounded him as he flew forever upward, the Enchanter breaking cold air alongside him, her expression most focused as she blasted spell after spell at the dark figure that loomed ever above them and, Nathanial knew without a glance backward, behind them as well. He grasped tight Xavier’s hand, sure to pull the Vampire adamantly along as the wind…
Excerpt of The Rather Depressing Tales of Patricia L. Bordeaux
I suppose I should start at the beginning, and though one would debate just what the beginning consists of, I must say that it starts on the rather cold night of January 4th, 1714. My mother remained at home with her dear Lady Langdon, gossiping about the world and pining for her youth, while I, a quite adventurous sort in those days, made it my fortune to venture to those rather indecent places one would only whisper about behind drawn curtains and closed doors with blushing cheeks and lowered eyes. My particular goal in sight this night was to scour…
Sneak Peek of Something Great!
Since I’m at college right now, I’ll post more about my interview with Before Sunrise Press if I can get my hands on a computer before I get home today. Weee! Keep your bite! -S.C. Parris
Understanding Writing Style
Being in a creative writing class has made me realize (if, only more so), my writing style and how it differs (and is similar to) my peers in the class. I’ve written short stories for the class thus far, two poems, and naturally, my inclination was to write, or share, my previously written work, or type up stories where couples were distraught, on the verge of a break up, lost secrets not told, secrets, as a whole, I realize tends to more or less resurface in my work, something my professor enjoys immensely to say the least. I showed him…
New 5-Star Review for A Night of Frivolity!
A good friend of mine read ANoF and reviewed it. The review is below copied from Goodreads.com in its entirety: Kristina‘s review May 03, 13 5 of 5 stars bookshelves: 2013-goal-65 Read on May 03, 2013 As this was a short story, I will make this short… I thoroughly enjoyed this short story, and wish I could know more about these characters. Also, I loved the language of the story; it felt old and mysterious. What will you think of this short story?  Click the cover above to get it today! Keep your bite, -S.C. Parris
Fatigue
Do you crawl in a ball and let yourself rest? Or are you determined to push past it and carry on with your day knowing it’s going to bring you further down later? And for the women reading, do you get fatigued when you’re close to those red days?   I do…or rather I am now. I attribute my general lack of enthusiam for things and my previous poem War, to my upcoming “female week.” And it reminds me how depressed and anxious I used to be on a daily basis. How tired and worn down I would feel,…
New Review for A Night of Frivolity!
Jayme K., the author of Youth, read my ebook and reviewed it on Goodreads. You can read it in its entirety here, or simply look below: Jayme K. rated it 5 of 5 stars  Truthfully I don’t liken myself a fan of Anne Rice or even much period piece literature, so I went into this short story with mixed feelings. That being said, having finished the story – I have to say, I was impressed. Despite not being a fan of the genre, S.C. Parris still managed to captivate me with the style and prose of which it was written…
