I’ve been exploring the ancestry in the second book of SINNER SHARPE’s story. However, this story explores Dagger’s ancestry, whereas book one was solely focused on Sinner’s (admittedly dark) ancestry.

In doing this, I hope to explore the inner mechanics of the world more than Sinner was capable of (being an outsider). Although both stories are called The Tales of Sinner Sharpe: (Insert subtitle here), it became clear by beta readers’ readings of The Tales of Sinner Sharpe: Dark Waters, that Dagger held their interest. And mine.
So with magic more of a plot device in the sequel, I’m eager to explore the mechanics of it all (how it works and makes the users feel, if there are any ailments that come about as a result of it). And how Dagger has now found himself an outsider of his own family. Terrible secrets are revealed to him early on in the sequel and this propels the story into the quest for answers – all the while fending off a murderous Sinner, and eventually fending off the greater threat (not Sinner).
I already know I’m not going to continue the story with more books as this always seemed fitting to be a duo series. And I like it like that. After writing six books of The Dark World series, I’d like to test myself to see if I can write a tight, cohesive two-part story and let that be the end of it. (I love to write a lot if you couldn’t already tell.)
Personal-ish News:
I’ve moved recently, finished my Master’s, and have a few internships lined up, as well as some work in a library for the Fall. I will be busy despite being done with school, but I’m excited to learn more in my field and apply myself to all the things besides writing!
I have other fun things lined up that will be revealed really soon (and once it is I’ll update this blog post with the details), but for now I’m so proud of myself for choosing myself and taking the necessary steps to focus on what’s important to me. But most importantly, I’m eager to continue to develop my writing craft and write more books for you all to enjoy!
‘Till next time!

Dagger is such a fascinating character. Another book focused on him to balance with one about Sinner sounds perfect! Their relationship is so interesting.
I’m so happy for you regarding your personal news and look forward to hearing more about what you’re up to! You deserve all the good things. <3
You’re too kind to me! ;_; Thank you. It just seemed natural to focus on Dagger mostly in this sequel (though Sinner is still very much the forefront of the story). I’m so glad you’re interested in Sinner and think it’s a good idea! Thank you for the wonderful words! You deserve all the best things life has to offer! <3 <3 <3
