Hello lovelies! I’m S.C. Parris and this is a continuation on my Blood Talk Blog series: Vampires, where I talk more about the mythical creatures/monsters that appear in my series, and today’s topic are those vicious, blood-fueled beasts we all love (or love to hate for me), Lycans. Now, when starting to write THE DARK WORLD: BOOK 1, I was ready to merely name the Vampires’ antagonists ‘Werewolves,’ as, in my sixteen-year-old brain that’s who the Vampires always fought in various books and movies I’d consumed before then. Blood Talk: Vampires!

People often ask me why I chose to write about Vampires, and my answer always is: I didn’t choose to write about Vampires; they chose me.

As I’ve said on this blog before, my mother is to blame (or thank) for my avid interest in all things Dark. She would watch all the old horror movies while pregnant with me, and I guess some of it rubbed off on the little premature baby inside.

Anyway, Vampires are hypnotic, sexy, cruel, damned, monstrous, needy, and, I think, necessary.

A Little Life Happens Along The Way

We can suffer from anxiety/depression/etc., but we do not have to let it control our lives, year, month, week, day, hour, or second. We can choose to move on. We can choose to get up and do something. We can choose to put our anxieties toward productive activities.

I know everyone over at Permuted is super excited this morning….er, afternoon. (Just realized it was 12 pm, as of typing this.) Anywho, we at Permuted just got a nice present in our emails this morning – we got the release dates for all of our novels/series…etc. And it’s a relief, I must say, to see when my books will be out in the world. 2016 is the year you can expect, not only the first novel in The Dark World Series, but all 5, yes, all 5. Permuted and I will spit out all 5 books within a year,…

Eternal Con 2014

Was a lot of fun, hence my uber long string of a lack of posts, but I’m back home now and ready to attend to this blog as I must. I got an autographed picture from one of my favorite wrestlers (yes, I am still a huge wrestling fan), Mick Folkey/Cactus Jack/Dude Love/Mankind. It made my year, easily. I picked up a few comics as well. They are The Flash and The History of the DC Universe, respectively. I haven’t really read either yet. I’m not sure what I’m waiting for, really. I’ve gotten a huge push in the writing…
