I Realize I Never Did A Cover-Reveal On My Own Blog

He captured all the nuances of each book beautifully, and his attention to detail to character is astounding. I’m extremely happy with them.

Just so no one’s confused, however, I will say that these books follow a group of characters, as such there are scene dividers and threads of everyone’s story as the series progresses.

Blood Talk Episode 3: Dracula and The Sons of Thestian

The Sons of Thestian (The Harmatia Cycle: Book 1) is a brilliant YA Fantasy novel written by the wonderfully talented M.E. Vaughan and I’m still reading it. It’s taking me way too long to finish it but that’s my fault – nothing to do with the book, though it is long – and that’s just how I like them. You can track more of my reading progress for The Sons of Thestian through Goodreads.

In other news, as I’ve just realized I haven’t written about it here (for shame), I am somewhat happy to announce that instead of five books for The Dark World series, there will be SIX, yes SIX, you read

Ideas for Giveaways!

After taking Xavier (my Siberian Husky for new readers) out to do his business, I had an idea that I would use each social media platform I frequent to hold giveaways conducive to the platform. For example:

My Instagram would have image-inclined giveaways.

My Facebook Page would have ‘share this, comment, take a photo of yourself with book 1, answer this question, and sing a song while on your head’ kind of giveaways.

My Tumblr would have ‘reblog this and like this to enter’ kind of giveaways.

Because I’m starting not to post the same things on each social media. Some days my Instagram is left alone while I frequent Facebook. At others, my Tumblr sees me reblogging everything in sight, sparking up conversations with other writers and readers, and at others my Facebook sees me sharing everything I can.

Even my Newsletter would have ‘subscriber-only’ giveaways right through emails.

3 DAY FLASH GIVEAWAY!

Yup because I’m bored at home (and somehow not writing, I know, I know,) I decided to hold a flash giveaway on my Facebook Page! Because I know my Likes could be a bit higher, I’ve decided to make that the stipulation for entering the giveaway! All you have to do is like the page and you’re entered to win!

The Dark World *Revised* Prologue
Prologue The full moon shone in a bright circle of silver spreading a dim light throughout the night. On the ground below, hushed footsteps hurried along the forest ground, crushing dried leaves and twigs beneath their weight. Both men, draped in dark cloaks, walked along without speaking a word, only the sound of broken twigs destroying the steady silence that passed between them when the taller man spotted it first: Wispy, gray smoke drifted lazily into the dark air from a stone chimney attached to a rather shabby cabin. The slightly shorter man removed his hood upon seeing the cabin…
Repost from S.C.Parris.com: So Excited! New Blog Posts Every Tuesday!
Quick little post:  I’m happy to have this website up and running. I’m going to start writing blog posts here every Tuesday.  Be sure to look out for them.  Edit:  I came home from a class tonight to a great surprise! Long time friend and something of a mentor to me,Ronald A. Moore, author of one of my favorite vampire novels, Nocturn, made a mock cover for The Dark World: Book 1:  I teared up when I scrolled down my Tumblr dashboard, just in awe. At first I thought someone else had a book with the same title and then…
Repost from S.C.Parris.com: Blood Talk; Blood Wine
Blood Talk; Blood Wine January 20, 2015  Today was a bit crazy – and by crazy, I mean York College crazy. Long story short looks like I’ll have to take out a(nother) loan. Something I seriously didn’t want to do – but hey, when life throws you punches, you roll with ’em, right?  Anyway, I shot a new Blood Talk Episode: Yup! Will edit it a bit later after I get some writing done. I’m really proud of myself for continuing to make the videos, even with no script or anything, I started talking and the theme of the show…
Good News!
So I gave my Creative Writing Professor my copy of The Immortal’s Guide to hold because it was apart of an assignment to bring something you really care about to class. So he kept it over night and when I returned to class the next schedulded day, he told me he really liked it, that my narrative was very vivid…etc. Anyway, fast forward to today – He told me that he has a friend (I forget the friend’s name) who is a publisher and he wants me to get him a copy of The Dark World to hand over to…
Editing is OVER!
And believe me, I have been celebrating in my own way (drowning in Netflix shows counts as celebrating, hush), and I’m overjoyed at the story I have now. And as for what has been done with the story – well you’ll have to keep reading future blog posts to find out. 😉 Moving on, The Dark World is the novel I’m talking about in case you’re a newcomer to this blog, and you can read more about it by clicking the link up there on the navigation bar. And with the completion of The Dark World, (for the millionth time), I’ve…
