The Tales of Sinner Sharpe: Dark Waters
‘THE TALES OF SINNER SHARPE: DARK WATERS’ Excerpt: Bats
This helped shape the nature of the story: Sinner is an outcast from this island. He has no magical ability, same as all from Othril, and when on the mainland, this lack of magical ability is apparent—he is ostracized not only because of his physical dark features, but his inability.
Gothic Horror And Inspiration
It was always my intention as of late, with Sinner Sharpe to delve into the horror he’s facing–not physical horror–at least not yet, but the mental horror. He’s seeing horrific visions, he’s losing large gaps of time, he’s being attacked on his ship (an already enclosed space) for weeks.
Excerpt from Current Vampire-Pirate Work in Progress, SINNER SHARPE
A taste of the new fantasy world I’m conjuring! Some explanation before we jump into it: I started writing this series several years ago, after getting inspired by Glen Cook’s THE BLACK COMPANY series. I wanted to write about a swashbuckling mercenary who has the job of a lifetime, I just couldn’t get the stakes right. If you were a patron of mine, then you know all about Sinner Sharpe and how it went from strictly a pirate fantasy adventure to a vampire-infested pirate…horror adventure. You see, I was stuck on it for years — unable to get past Chapter 1. Literally the other…
Blood Talk: Creating New Worlds

We needn’t paint obtuse colors of expression on our character’s faces all the time (I was a fan of this when I first started writing), their dialogue and small mannerisms can help paint a picture that can, with every little nuance, create a greater, more believable world.

Blood Talk: Elves!

These Elves were banished to beneath the Etrian Hills by Dracula for their attack on the Vampire City some 3 years from the first book’s start. They are very ridiculed and have had their weapons taken from them, but they are still granted their magic by Dracula and the Council of Creatures.

Blood Talk: Enchanters!
Good evening beautiful people! ICYMI: Blood Talk: Vampires! & Blood Talk: Lycans! are the previous installments leading up to this one. What are we discussing today? Enchanters! They are my version of witches and wizards, though they simply Enchant things to benefit the other Creatures. They enchant rings for the Vampires to use in order for them to walk upon the surface, and be amongst humans, and they enchant other objects for other Creatures to use though that isn’t really shown in the series, just barely touched upon. Now, compared to the Vampires and Lycans they sound pretty dull, don’t…
I Realize I Never Did A Cover-Reveal On My Own Blog

He captured all the nuances of each book beautifully, and his attention to detail to character is astounding. I’m extremely happy with them.

Just so no one’s confused, however, I will say that these books follow a group of characters, as such there are scene dividers and threads of everyone’s story as the series progresses.

Blood Talk Episode 3: Dracula and The Sons of Thestian

The Sons of Thestian (The Harmatia Cycle: Book 1) is a brilliant YA Fantasy novel written by the wonderfully talented M.E. Vaughan and I’m still reading it. It’s taking me way too long to finish it but that’s my fault – nothing to do with the book, though it is long – and that’s just how I like them. You can track more of my reading progress for The Sons of Thestian through Goodreads.

In other news, as I’ve just realized I haven’t written about it here (for shame), I am somewhat happy to announce that instead of five books for The Dark World series, there will be SIX, yes SIX, you read
