I had work yesterday, but my family had a BBQ. After an incredibly tiring afternoon of work, I got tipped (yes!) and headed home to eat food and converse with my lovely family. Eventually, a friend from high school brought his friend and she was incredibly interested in my book. I grabbed it for her and she read the Prologue and didn’t stop.
It got me smiling.
As she read, she commended the characters and the detail etched into the scenery. I must be doing something right no matter how much I think I’m not, right?
I gave her and her friend my business card and enjoyed the rest of my night.
I’m currently writing more of The Immortal’s Guide, in time for the Halloween deadline (which has been met with praise by many for it’s lovely timing).
And since it’s Sunday, I’ll leave you lovely folks with a Six Sentence Sunday post:
“Ewer,” she said at once, “you are back.”
“Yes, my child,” Ewer Caddenhall said with a warm smile, his sharp red eyes flashing. “Where is he?”
“Darien or the other?” she asked him, her expression resolving to that of slight discomfort.
Ewer stepped to her and he clearly towered over her here as he was so wonderfully tall. “Darien, of course…”
From The Immortal’s Guide: Another Delacroix Novel, Chapter One: The Guest coming Halloween 2012!
These particular sentences stem from a scene where the infamous Caddenhall family has returned to their home. And as we see here, Ewer, the oldest remaining Caddenhall member is to speak to his Master, the mysterious Darien Nicodemeus. What will happen next?
You can pick up The Dark World: A Delacroix Novel to see! (The first part of The Guest is in the back of the book!) Just something to satiate your urges before The Immortal’s Guide becomes available online.
Keep your bite.
